Privacy Policy

Trait Deck is an offline personality-test app published by Hugo Software. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your data.
The short version
Trait Deck does not collect personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Your answers and your results stay on your phone.
Permissions
Trait Deck requests no runtime permissions at all. It does not use the camera, the microphone, location, contacts, your files or the advertising ID.
What is stored on your device
- Your answers and your result. The forty answers you give, the five axis scores calculated from them, the archetype card they produce, and your result history are stored locally in the app's own storage on your phone.
- Comparison results. If you compare two people, the second person's answers are entered on the same phone, used to calculate the comparison, and held only on that device.
- Your settings. Small preferences — your chosen language, whether you have seen the intro, how many comparisons you have run, and a cached copy of the configuration file described below — are stored locally.
Nothing in this list is transmitted to us. We have no ability to read any of it.
The only two network connections Trait Deck makes
1. Google Play Billing. If you start a free trial, subscribe, or restore a purchase, that transaction is handled by Google Play services. Google receives the purchase information under Google's own privacy policy. Trait Deck never sees, receives or stores your card or payment details.
2. A configuration file from our own server. On launch, Trait Deck makes a single plain GET request to https://hq.bnj.app/api/v1/config/traitdeck. It fetches feature flags — for example whether a maintenance notice should be shown.
That request carries no user identifier, no device identifier, no account, no answers and no personal data. As with any request over the internet, our server sees the IP address and user-agent that the connection itself carries; we do not log these for tracking or profiling. If the request fails, the app falls back to settings built into it and continues to work normally.
Trait Deck makes no other network connections. The test, the scoring, the reading and the comparison all run on your device and work with the phone in aeroplane mode.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, store or process personal data.
- We do not use analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not show advertising and contain no advertising SDK.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties, because we do not have any.
- We do not require or offer an account.
- We do not send your answers or your result to any server, ours or otherwise.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on our side. Everything Trait Deck stores is on your own device and under your control: use Settings then "Delete everything on this device", or uninstall the app to remove all of it at once. If you have purchased a subscription, your purchase record is held by Google Play, and you manage or cancel it there.
Children
Trait Deck is directed at users aged 18 and over. It is not intended for children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. If the app ever begins collecting data, this page will say so before that version ships.
